I’m writing this Mother’s Day post during COVID-19 – when social distancing is strongly encouraged. Most of us are not with our mothers for this special Mother’s Day and I’m receiving some questions on how do you make it special? I’ve compiled some of my favorite recipes, fun social distancing activities to do as a family, as well as some DIY crafts for you to try!
I have been staying with my mom for the last eight weeks, so I get the very special opportunity to be with her and cook for her on Mother’s Day. We will be making her very favorite brown buttered scallops pairing that with steak medallions, grilled broccoli and asparagus, and a dinner roll.
I will also be making this French Toast Skillet. If you’ve been watching my Instagram Stories you know we have a farm close to us that has the best fresh strawberries right now. This recipe calls for berries and I could not be more excited about cooking it for her while we watch church in our pj’s this weekend!
Below are some other goodies – I’ve considered making this weekend for Mother’s day. Considering breakfast in bed for mom? Go check out my brunch round up!

I loved creating this zoom background for my mom for our family virtual party happening this weekend! Take old pictures and collage them together! Canva is a great website that can help you build your own background. Obviously, I don’t remember these memories – but they are sweet pictures that celebrate my mom being a mom!

The #MomHero movement. Use this as your hashtag when you share photos on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter this weekend to show how your mom is a hero!

I love fun construction paper crafts! Washable paints and construction paper are still available for Grocery Pickup through Walmart – and I was able to get them delivered in 3 hours! WOW! Talk about fast service.
All of these ideas from breakfast in bed to construction paper crafts can make the mom’s in your life feel special! Don’t let being apart keep you from celebrating them!
So do me a favor. When you love this recipe as much as I do, will you post about it? Will you tag me on Instagram or Facebook? Will you share this post with your friends?
