There is a lot that goes on around Thanksgiving, as it’s the busiest time of year. There are times that you just can’t get it all done, so that’s where these little Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies come into play! What a great activity for the kids table! Am I right? Of course I am, because I didn’t come up with this little treat. My genius mother did.
We grew up cooking and helping in the kitchen, and Thanksgiving was no exception. She would separate all of the ingredients and we would make our little Turkeys. Because they are so easy no matter the age – your kiddos can help out. The best part, even your friends at Friendsgiving would probably enjoy making them. I know mine do!
Oreos, Fudge Striped cookies, Hershey Kisses, Candy Corn, and Fudge frosting is really all you need! There is a simple reminder though… Candy Corn is super hard to find immediately following Halloween. Usually I have to drive to several convenience stores before finding it and occasionally I can find it at a CVS or Walgreens and maybe Hobby Lobby. I found these on clearance at Walgreens this year. Bingo!
You connect each part of the turkey with frosting. Easy as that.
And make sure the fudge striped cookies go vertical and not horizontal.. because after all the feathers on a turkey go vertical too!
And they even make a cute decorative piece for your table or buffet! Happy Thanksgiving!! Gobble Gobble!
